It's graduation season, which is when fresh graduates compete with experienced employees in the job market. If you happen to be looking for a job, you may need to go to some in-person interviews despite the pandemic. In this case, a double breasted vest with matching pants will work nicely for you this summer. For those of you happy with your current positions, such an ensemble can be good for a company meeting in summertime as well.

Double breasted jackets and vests are in style this year. Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have donned double breasted jackets recently. Summer may be too hot for a double breasted jacket though. A double breasted suit vest can let you seize the same trend and feel cooler at the same time. Better yet, the double breasted cut can help you avoid a problem commonly seen with a single breasted top--- when you sit down, the vertical line between buttons of your button-down blouse or suit jacket may crack open a little, and that doesn't look good, whereas a double breasted jacket or vest won't trigger those cracks.

In the meantime, colored matching sets are on trend. So, your double breasted vest and matching pants don't have to come in black or gray. Although a very bright color may seem too eye-catching for a professional interview, you can pick a grayish tone of a pastel, like the dusty lavender I chose.

Don't worry about wearing a light color instead of black or navy blue. The silhouette is actually more important than the color in terms of flattering your figure. So, search for a vest that comes with a slight nip in the waist, and pants that have the zipper on the side or in the back. Please note that the front zipper often bulges and looks like a tummy, even if you actually don't have apparent belly fat!

Equally notably, the pants should not be too long. They must stay straight at the bottom to look sleek.

Beneath such pants, heels would work better than flats, but the heels should not be too high. Two-inch block heels would give you a bit of a lift and still allow you to walk agilely. You must show the employer that you can easily take action any time.

Shoes for job interviews are generally closed-toe, but you can select a pair with cutouts in the toe boxes, as shown in my photo above. Then they won't display your toenails but will let air in and out to keep your toes from getting too sweaty. They will make you feel comfortable and therefore probably perform better during your interview.

Last but not least, the purse you carry to your interview should not be too big. As long as the purse can hold what you need, a smaller one will make your whole body look lighter and more energetic.

Hope these tips help. Good luck!
